Prompts

What kind of prompts are these?

Prompts are short, specific to you, and human—designed to surface moments you’d otherwise forget, not to demand reflection or writing. Most responses take under a minute. We aim to tailor prompts to your family and the season you're in, with the goal of creating a narrative-rich book that is worth keeping.

What if I miss a prompt?

Nothing breaks. You can reply late, skip one entirely, or respond to the next. The book is shaped from what you share—not penalized by what you don’t. This is important: you are not “behind” at any point. Please check specific book "minimum prompt responses" to print.

Is this just for families with young kids?

Yearmake is designed for all types of couples, families, and individuals in any season of life who want a done-for-you record—without managing it themselves.

What kind of responses are you expecting?

We want you to respond however is most natural and convenient for you. Whether that is by text message, email, voice notes, or even videos (which we will transcribe for quotes), we will capture it all.

Story of You

How many prompts will I receive in 10 weeks?

We will send 3 promps per week over 10 weeks. To ensure the book has enough depth and continuity, a minimum of 20 completed prompts is required to print.

What is the minimum number of prompts I need to answer?

To ensure the book has enough depth and continuity, a minimum of 20 completed prompts is required to print.

What if I can't answer the minimum of 20 prompts within the 10 weeks?

We understand life can get in the way! We offer a 4 week grace period, sending an additional 3 prompts per week until at least 20 are responded. You can also always go back and respond to older prompts when you have the time. To ensure the book has enough depth and continuity, a minimum of 20 completed prompts is required to print. If this minimum isn’t met after the standard timeline and grace period, your project is paused and safely archived. Nothing is lost. Refer to our Completion Policies page for details.

What happens if my project is paused?

A project may be paused at the decision of the customer, or if the minimum 20 prompts to print has not been met after the standard 10 week timelinen and the additional 4 week grace period. Please see our Completion Policies page for your options.

Do I need to organize or label anything?

No. You simply reply with photos and brief notes. We handle all selection, sequencing, and layout decisions.

Can I customize my book design/cover?

We use a fixed, carefully designed format to ensure every book meets our editorial and print standards. At this time, customization is limited to selecting your cover color.

Can I review the book before it’s printed?

Yes. Before you book is ready to print, you’ll receive a complete preview of the book to review in full before printing.

Can I make changes at the final review stage?

You can flag factual corrections or issues of representation (names, dates, omissions). We handle refinements without turning the review into a design project.

Ordering

Can I order extra copies?

Yes. Additional copies can be ordered at cost after the final book is approved. You can order extra copies as soon as the book is ready, or anytime thereafter. Until you delete your account, all of your files are saved digitally for reprint at anytime.

What if I decide it’s not for me?

Please review our Refund Policy for more information.
