Your family’s photos and stories are deeply personal. We treat them that way.
Yearmake exists to create a finished family yearbook—not to collect data, build profiles, or monetize your information. Privacy is not an add-on to our product. It is foundational to how we operate.
SMS Privacy Policy
SMS messages are sent only in connection with an active Yearmake account or book and are not used for marketing, advertising, or promotional campaigns.
SMS consent is obtained when users voluntarily provide their mobile number through the Yearmake website and affirm consent via a clear opt-in checkbox or SMS keyword confirmation.
Message frequency varies based on the stage of book creation, typically ranging from a few messages per week during active prompt periods.
Mobile numbers are retained only for the duration of an active account or as required to provide requested services, and are deleted upon account closure unless legally required to retain them.
Yearmake does not share mobile numbers, text messaging originator opt-in data, or consent with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Mobile information may be shared only with infrastructure providers and subcontractors necessary to deliver SMS messages (such as messaging platforms and telecommunications carriers), and solely for operating the messaging service.
All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent. This information will not be shared with any third parties.
SMS Communications Privacy & Terms
By opting in to receive SMS messages from Yearmake, you consent to receive text messages related to your account, book creation process, prompts for submitting content, service notifications, and customer support.

Mobile information may be shared only with infrastructure providers and subcontractors required to deliver SMS services, and solely for operating the messaging program.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
What we collect (and why)
We collect only what’s necessary to create your book:
Photos and brief notes you choose to send in response to prompts
Basic account information (name, email, shipping address)
Payment information, processed securely by our payment provider
We do not collect behavioral data, track browsing activity, or request access to your photo library, social media accounts, or contacts.
Who owns your content
You do.
You retain full ownership of all photos, text, and content you share
Your content is used only to produce your yearbook
We do not claim any rights to reuse, resell, or repurpose your content
Nothing you send becomes part of a shared library, dataset, or archive.
How your content is used
Your content is accessed solely for the purpose of:
Editing and sequencing your material
Designing your yearbook
Producing and delivering the finished book
Your content is never:
Used for advertising or marketing without explicit permission
Shared with other customers
Sold or licensed to third parties
Children’s privacy
We understand that many of the photos you share include children.
We do not profile, analyze, or categorize children in any way
We do not use children’s images for training, research, or promotion
We do not build databases of children’s photos
Your child’s images exist only within the context of your family’s book.
AI & automated systems
Yearmake does not use your content to train artificial intelligence models.
Your photos and text are not used for machine learning
Your content does not improve or inform systems for other users
Nothing you submit becomes “training data”
Any tools we use internally are applied only to your project, for your book.
Data storage & access
Your content is stored securely and accessed on a need-to-know basis.
Access is limited to the small team responsible for producing your book
We do not outsource content review to call centers or third-party contractors
We use reputable infrastructure providers with industry-standard security practices
We do not grant open or persistent access to your content.
Sharing & third parties
We share the minimum information required to operate the service:
Payment information is handled by secure payment processors
Printing partners receive only the finalized files necessary to print your book
Shipping partners receive only what’s needed to deliver your order
No third party is permitted to use your content for any other purpose.
Marketing & public sharing
We will never share your family’s photos or stories publicly unless you explicitly opt in.
No testimonials using your content without permission
No social media posts using your images without consent
No “examples” drawn from customer books
We do not use customer content publicly unless explicit, affirmative permission is provided.
Your choices & control
You are always in control.
You decide what to send and what not to send
You may skip prompts or withhold any content at any time
You may request deletion of your content after your book is completed
If you choose to stop using Yearmake, your content is not retained indefinitely.
Data retention
We retain your content only as long as necessary to:
Complete your book
Support reprints or customer-requested copies
You may request deletion of your content at any time after completion.
